"Finals almost done ...

Just one more

Live-thing to run

My ears ache

Need a break

Hope all the strain

Mixing fixing

Master disaster

Was not in vain

(But anyhow

Have to admit

Beyond the pain

Still had some fun) ... "

Audio: De Phoenicibus ... Vocals, Modern Concert Flute & Drums ...

Blog-Wise >>

This audio is freely based on an old latin text by Isidor of Sevilla, one of the greatest collectors of antique etymologies (560-636). I have chosen the topic of the phoenix as I have always adored the mythological concept of this unique bird ...:

The phoenix is said to become 500 years old. When he realizes, he's getting too old and weak, he collects certain aromatic plants and prepares himself a funeral-pyre, or better said "resurrection-pyre". He lifts his wings towards the Sun and let's Her rays ignite his funeral-pyre. Afterwards he will resurrect himself out of his own ashes.

In memory of the Ancient Ones ... and livicated to all those, who keep on rising anew out of their ashes ...
